Funding Application Criteria

Please note that in order to serve a diverse array of community initiatives, the Rotary Club of Chilliwack primarily offers community project grants in the range of $500-$2,500. The grant is not required to fund a full project, and funding for a project where our grant will only cover a portion will still be considered.

Projects must:

  1. be consistent with Rotary Values: Service, Fellowship, Diversity, Integrity and Leadership; AND

  2. benefit the Chilliwack community at large, a significant number of citizens, or smaller groups in special circumstances.

Priority will be given to funding requests that are for:

  1. one-time funding; AND

  2. tangible goods or creations that can be used for more than one year or by more than one group.

The Rotary Club of Chilliwack will not fund:

  1. Annual campaigns

  2. Fundraising

  3. Funds for routine operations or costs of an individual, business, charity, or society

  4. Travel costs, parties, or food

  5. Reduction of debts

  6. Sales ventures

Please note:

1. Funding requests should be directed through parent organizations if funding is requested by subgroups of large organizations. Schools and teachers must direct their applications through one of the Principals or Vice Principals.

2. Projects that would normally be funded by other sources such as government(s), school districts, etc., will only be considered if funded in cooperation with other funding sources or matching grants. These details should be noted in the application.

3. Financial statements, project plans, supporting documents or more information, or other documents may be requested in support of applications.

4. Service projects should clearly identify opportunities to recognize the Rotary Club of Chilliwack on promotional material, newsletters, social media, etc. Logos are available upon request for this use.
